These are the standards that guide what appears on NameNesting.

Accuracy over volume

We would rather have fewer names with honest, accurate information than millions of padded entries. We do not create fake or filler entries to inflate our numbers.

Honesty about AI

NameNesting uses AI, and we're transparent about it. AI-generated content is labeled. We're open about confidence levels, and we don't present AI guesses as established fact.

No fabricated data

We never invent meanings, etymologies, or origins to fill gaps. When we don't know, we say so.

Cross-cultural respect

NameNesting serves families from many cultures and traditions. We aim to represent names - especially those from underrepresented cultures - with accuracy and respect, in their native scripts where possible.

Continuous improvement

Content is updated and corrected as our data improves and as users point out issues. If you spot something wrong, email [email protected] - corrections are welcomed.
