How it works
We first check your name against our curated database of more than 22,000 documented names spanning 36 languages and cultures, each with a verified origin and meaning. If the name is there, you get an instant answer with its meaning, origin, and native script. If it is not in our database, our AI gives a careful assessment — and crucially, it is built to admit uncertainty rather than guess. When a name has no documented history, we say so plainly.
Why honesty matters
Many name sites invent a meaning for every name, even ones that have none. We do not. A modern coinage like Kaydence or Braxlee is a perfectly lovely name, but it has no ancient root — and we would rather tell you that honestly than make something up.
